Run with us Calgary.

YYCRunCrew is a free, all levels run crew based in Calgary, Alberta. We run Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from various locations around the city.

Our philosophy is simple, we’re all runners. Whether you’re lacing up for your first 3km run/walk, running your 10th half marathon, or lacing up to set a world record, you’re a runner. And if you’re a runner, you can run with us. And if you’ve run with the crew, you’re part of the crew. There’s no registration fees, and no sign up, just show up.

that sunday vibe

easy like sunday morning

Here’s what to expect with at our Sunday morning run. Like all of our runs, this is a free community led run with no sign up fees and no registration. We meet directly north (the river side) of the The Simmons Building at 618 Confluence Way SE. Runners looking to put some longer miles in meet up at 9:00am for the 11km+ route, and runners looking to hit the pavement for 4-7km meet up at 9:20am to roll out at 9:30am. There’s often a range of paces from 4:45min/km to 7:30min/km with everything in between and at the beginning of each run we’ll do our best to identify who is running what pace so that no one has to run alone. If you’re feeling a little unsure, we encourage runners to bring a friend along!

To observe physical distancing guidelines we encourage runners to know the route(s) or follow along using Strava and avoid running in tight groups. We’ve spaced out run start times for different distances in hopes that we all finish our runs together.

Afterwards our tradition is to stick around and enjoy coffee from Phil and Sebastian’s, pastries from Sidewalk Citizen, and even an ice bath in the Bow River.

midweek vibes

a little bit of everything

Week in and week out for 9 years our Tuesday night run has been running from the lululemon located on 4th street in Calgary. Again, this is a free, community led run with no sign up fees, and no registration. We meet in front of the lululemon on 4th street at 6:00pm before strolling down to the corner of Elbow Drive and 4th Street SW to run the route. Each week the route changes, but we have plenty of seasoned runners who’ve been coming for years to help lead the way for runners of all levels. There’s often a range of paces from 4:45min/km to 7:30min/km with everything in between and at the beginning of each run we’ll do our best to identify who is running what pace so that no one has to run alone. If you’re feeling a little unsure, we encourage runners to bring a friend along!

The route changes every week but we’ll post a long-ish route and a short mellow route on our instagram story each Monday so you can follow along. If you’re looking to familiarize yourself with the area, we’ve got a few of our most popular routes linked in Strava above.

Post run, we always enjoy a no shower happy hour at the Joyce on 4th located on 4th Street and 24th Ave, so don’t be a stranger and come on down to the run where everybody knows your name.

thursdays are back at Southcentre!

the south crew has moved for fall!

Our Thursday runs have moved back to Southcentre for the fall! This inclusive run group features 5km leads and 7km leads to take you through the beautiful community of Bonavista.

The beauty of this run, and each of our three weekly runs, is that if you show up, you’re part of the crew. All you need to run is two feet and a heart beat, but we choose to run together, so don’t be shy, when you show up ask questions, tell us what pace you’re running, and make some new run buddies! If you show up for run crew, you’re part of the crew.
